Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She is the owner and director of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native was raised with an affluent background. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon, and then later owned the Lakers. When her parents split in 1972, she began to feel as if she was abandoned. Her family's business was started in the age of 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. She founded later in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. In the beginning, she was vice president of Lakers before she assumed the presidency of Great Western Forum. Buss inherited the Lakers from her father in 2013. Five siblings of hers took over the franchise through an estate trust. Her duties were assumed as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is the owner of Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles, an organization that promotes pro wrestling.
